Dear Mother Nature,
The first snow was "pretty". Snow for the holidays was "nice". January and Februay were totally acceptable. Now, on behalf of every single person in Upstate New York: KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY!!!!
In all seriousness, I personally cannot remember a winter that consumed us so completely like this one has. Sure, we all remember rogue snowfalls around Mother's Day, however, this winter has had us in a proverbial headlock since the end of November. We would like spring to show up, like NOW, and hang out until we usher in the dog days of summer.
With that being said, our staff is more than ready to get back to work and clean up the remnants of last fall that could not be attended to due to the early snowfall. However, we can't just yet. The ridiculous amount of rain and snow we have seen has left the ground so completely saturated that we are in a holding pattern waiting for the sunshine to come out and dry out this mess. Channel 8 featured this "issue" last Friday, and John was interviewed about the impact of the weather on local contractors. This interview can be seen here: http://bit.ly/PGJqEi.
So, we've asked before and we will ask again, please bear with us. No one is more excited about spring and our upcoming projects than the staff at John Welch Enterprise, Inc. We are taking this weather one day at a time, and our crews know that just as soon as it is feasible, we will be returning to work. Until then, pray for warm air and sunshine, and know that we are as well.
Thank you again for you patience and understanding. Think Spring!
