General Manager

Sharlene joined John Welch Enterprise, Inc. in April, 2010. For over 20 years she has enjoyed an enviable reputation throughout this area as an accomplished landscape management professional. Sharlene has managed sales staff and landscape crews, HR, and the Zero Tolerance to Drugs and Alcohol programs. Her strong landscape design skills include foundation plantings, walkways, patios and drainage systems.

Sharlene is the 444th person in NY State to receive CNLP (Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional) certification, a vigorous program that demands a commitment to continuing education, volunteer time, and support of the Green Industry. In addition, she holds an Erosion & Sediment Control Certificate from DEC.

As the Senior Director, Sharlene represents Region 5 (known as the Gardenscape Pros) at the N.Y.S. Nurseryman's Assoc. She is a two-time past president of Region 5, served on the original steering committee for Gardenscape, is the co-chair of Gardenscape the Show, and is also active on a variety of committees at the local and state level.

Sharlene's community involvement includes serving as the First Vice-President of the Monroe County Fair and Expo Center in Henrietta. A member of the Wheatland Rotary Club, she is the incoming President for the 2011-2012 term. She is an instructor for the Rochester Landscape Technicians' Hardscape Class.

Sharlene resides in Groveland with her husband David; they enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, children and family.

Office Manager

Patti joined John Welch Enterprise, Inc. in March, 2010. An exceptionally proficient office manager for over 20 years, Patti has an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Finger Lakes Community College. Her organizational skills and accounting background assure that the office runs smoothly. Patti’s cheerful personality makes calling our office a delightful, helpful, and professional experience.

Patti is the treasurer of Heart in Hand Quilt Guild and past treasurer of the NYS Quilters' Consortium. She is an active adult volunteer in Boy Scout Troop 61, Girl Scout Troop 1167, and the St. Patrick's Community.

Patti resides in Victor with her husband Ken, their two children, and father-in-law John.

Designer/Sales

Jennifer joined John Welch Enterprise, Inc. in April of 2009. For the past 15 years she has built a solid reputation as a skilled landscape designer. Jennifer has created environmental as well as therapeutic landscape plans using her knowledge and unique experience to ensure the final result will be both functional and attractive. Additionally, a skill set in Integrated Pest Management allows her to identify and manage issues in the field.

A NYS CNLP, Jennifer has earned certificates in Interior Design, Environmental Design, and Therapeutic Design. She is a certified ICPI Paver Installer and is continually developing new design and specialty skills. A warm, enthusiastic personality and attention to customer input make it easy to work with her.

Jennifer and her two children reside in Henrietta.

Sales & Design

Karl joined John Welch Enterprise, Inc. in April, 2010. Over the last 20 years he has established a reputation as an innovative and accomplished landscape designer. Karl creates unique designs that are not only beautiful, but wonderfully crafted to produce an outstanding project. His expertise covers all aspects of 'scape design from front walkways and foundation plantings to complex master plans, irrigation, lighting and drainage systems.

Karl has a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University, and continues his education through the NYS CNLP (Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional) program.

The Junior Director representing Region 5 at the N.Y.S. Nurseryman’s Association, Karl is a past president of Region 5 and is currently a member of the Steering Committee of Gardenscape the Show as well as chair of the Decorating Committee. He continues to be a leader in the Green Industry and will transform your landscape dreams into reality.

Karl heads the Golf Booster Club for the Canandaigua Academy. He resides in Canandaigua with his wife Carla and their three children.

Designer/Sales

Terry joined John Welch Enterprise, Inc. in April of 2004. Well known area-wide for over 30 years as an accomplished landscape designer, Terry has developed numerous plans for interior and exterior construction projects. Terry brings a wealth of knowledge to ensure our customers an end product that will be both functional and attractive. His experience includes production manger and retail sales in two Rochester area nurseries, ownership of a pool installation company, and establishment and operation of Exteriors by Terry. His professional expertise will guarantee a well developed plan that will bring years of enjoyment.

Terry holds a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo and taught in the Rochester City School District's Special Education program. His love for the outdoors and plants, however, led him to work in the Green Profession.

Terry resides in Penfield with his wife Sandra. He enjoys fishing and other outdoor activities at their cottage in the Adirondacks.

Lawn Maintenance Supervisor

Derek joined John Welch Enterprise, Inc. in March of 2006. With 20 years of experience, his skill and knowledge will make your lawn a showplace. During the winter months, he is involved in organizing our snow and ice control services. Derek's commitment to outstanding quality and customer service assures your satisfaction with our workmanship every time.

Derek, his wife Anna, and their four children live in Bloomfield.

Scott joined John Welch Enterprise, Inc. in 1997, our first employee, while he was still a student in high school. As such, he is thoroughly grounded in our philosophy, procedures, and high expectations. Scott attends numerous training events and seminars to keep him in the forefront of today’s standards. His dedication to quality and customer service makes John Welch Enterprise a good choice every time.

Scott resides in Bloomfield with significant other, Ashley, and his three children.
