Part Five - Winterization of Your Irrigation

Hard as it may be to admit, fall is coming to a bitter end. Winterizing or “blowing out” your irrigation system should be on your list of things to do before the first hard freeze!

Winterizing your irrigation system – removing water from the pipes, valves and sprinkler heads using compressed air – is essential before freezing occurs. It's the best way to protect your irrigation investment from potentially serious damage this winter. “Blowing out” your system is a procedure that should be left to a professional with the proper equipment. High volume and low pressure is needed to minimize the potential for freeze damage. Your basic homeowner air compressor produces high pressure and low volume which is not adequate to complete the job properly.

Our winterization process typically occurs from October thru late November, so it's not too late! Contact us at (585) 924-4488 to schedule an appointment.
