John Welch Enterprise is proud to serve the East Rochester community. Founded in 1897, East Rochester was laid out as a planned community around the New York Central Railroad. The mainline of that railroad ran directly through the center of the Village. Before becoming East Rochester, it was known as the Village of Despatch. It became East Rochester in 1906 to better showcase the village's proximity to Rochester. In 1966 East Rochester became the smallest community in the entire world to win the title of Senior Little League World Championship, defeating a team out of Des Moines, Iowa. The history of East Rochester is the reason for the town's flourishing community today.
